Within the myriad of “game shows, reality shows, crime series, and contestant based shows”, there is a trend which is becoming ever more annoying. This trend, is the trend of ‘suspense’. It is designed (I think this is the purpose) to keep us viewers on the edge of our seats for extended periods of time, but for me it is just an irritant.

ies or guarantees as they are otherwise known as, have been the bedrock of consumerism in the modern age.
A warranty( I will use the term warranty for this article) gives the buyer a promise of quality, longevity, convenience, and service. They also show that the seller or manufacturer has confidence in their products, and are willing to show that confidence by way of free replacements, repairs, servicing, shouldering shipping costs, etc…,
There are many organisations which are exempt from paying tax on their earnings. Tax exemption is usually granted to what are known as ‘non-profit’ organisations.
The very moniker should describe accurately the fact that these companies make no profit on their activities. Yet around the world, and in The USA in particular, there is
an underlying theme of organisations which are in effect ‘companies’ and these ‘companies’ are in ‘business’ to make a profit, yet they are exempt from paying tax.
The meaning of this word once defined major parts of most societies around the world. It stood for an almost iron clad guarantee of correct processes, sales, contracts, gentlemen’s agreements, and more.
Today this word is virtually unknown because it has literally lost its meaning. Most of society is only interested in the “me” strategy. Looking after number one at the cost of everything else.
A trend which has grown out of all proportion over the last several decades is the phenomenon of sales. But in this instance I am not talking about the regular transaction of buying and selling goods. I am talking about the sell at all costs phenomenon which has taken over all aspect of our lives.
